5.5" 3-disc carbon/carbon clutch, 8.5lbs flywheel, includes release bearing

Tilton Engineering introduces new clutch packages for Porsche 993/996/997 applications. These flywheels feature an OEM diameter timing trigger ring, so there is no longer a need to relocate your timing sensor in order to get Tilton quality and performance. Utilizing the experience we gained through working with Porsche Motorsports on the 996 GT3 RSR race cars, we developed these clutch packages to deliver unmatched performance, reliability and quality. Complete clutch packages, including a hydraulic release bearing, are available with 5.5" or 7.25" clutches (metallic or carbon).

Tilton Carbon/Carbon clutches offer the ultimate in performance.  The carbon discs are exactly matched to each clutch cover, hand-assembled, before they are shipped.  This means you can be assured proper fit without surprises.  The carbon/carbon discs also allow the driver to 'slip' the clutch for improve drivability, while maintaining the tremendous RPM and torque loads these motors can produce. 

The carbon discs will typically last up to 50k miles, depending on usage.  The clutches ship with 2 extra pressure plates.  When the carbon discs wears down, the clutch can be removed, measured, and use the additional pressure plates installed for another 50k miles, until both pressure plates are used up.  At this time, the clutch can be sent back to Tilton for a complete rebuild with new carbon discs, 2 more pressure plates, and then reinstalled and used all over again.  This clutch combination was designed to withstand, and last.
